Lo Key is a speakeasy-style restaurant and bar tucked beneath the streets of downtown Elmhurst — the kind of place you have to mean to find. The name is a quiet joke; nothing about the experience inside is understated.

Down the alley, below street level, past a door that doesn't announce itself — the entry is part of the experience. Lo Key sits in the heart of walkable downtown Elmhurst, close enough to Wilder Park and the Elmhurst Art Museum to feel like the neighborhood's best-kept secret.

The bar program here runs on conversation. Tell your bartender what you're in the mood for — or what you've loved before — and they'll build something to match; bespoke Old Fashioneds and preference-led recommendations are what guests return for.
More than a drink
Lo Key is a dinner-and-cocktails destination. The menu runs from small bites and shareable dishes to curated charcuterie boards — five cheeses and cured meats of your choosing, with smoked salmon or caviar available as add-ons.
The night, by design
Seating is limited and the room fills fast — particularly on weekends. Reservations are the sensible move; the velvet banquettes, marble tables, and pendant-lit bar are worth securing in advance.
